Can Spring Cleaning Kill Me?

"Spring cleaning doesn't have to be a dreaded list of chores. It can be a rewarding experience that helps provide some structure and organization in your life."

Peter Walsh - Professional Organizer

The Internet has no shortage of material regarding the origins of deep cleaning aka spring cleaning. As a matter of fact, in most parts of the world, this ritual is practiced in one form or another. Oftentimes, it will coincide with the New Year or the eve of an important holiday.

For sure, there are benefits to this maniacal cleaning. The most obvious is a spotless home, but did you know that it's also good for your soul?

Are you feeling stressed, overworked, overwhelmed or disconnected? The antidote:  open the windows, turn on the music and clean!

Clean, clean and when you feel like you're about to drop, then clean some more.

We're talking heavy-duty here. Don't just clean inside the refrigerator but behind it. Don't just do the top of the desk, crawl underneath it. And remember to dust those slats in your doors and blinds!

Take comfort in the fact that you're probably doing it right if you're starting to feel like paramedics may soon have to be called in. Will spring cleaning kill you? I seriously doubt it but you can always check with your medical professional before you begin.

In the end, you'll be left with a clear mind - focused -  with problems and priorities that are well-defined. Solutions will present themselves.

Because while you're busy organizing and cleansing the outside, the impact will also be felt inside.

After all is "said and done," take a step back, admire your handiwork, bask in the warmth that's permeating your streak-free windows and call me.

I'll successfully sell your home because

PRESENTATION as well as PRICE and Location matters!

My son signed me up for this SAT. Renting a truck , clean up and take them to City Waste. Everyday I see mattresses, furniture are abandoned on a dark county road just outside of city limit. Sick and tired of such poor behavior.

It is true that an ample job of spring cleaning clears the mind.  I have been working at mine for a few days now.  The cleaning up of my garden is a little behind because the rains keep interrupting me!

Sam Shueh I hear you. Not a pretty sight to see. I live by the beach and in the summer, I see more garbage than you could possibly imagine although there are garbage pails every few feet.

Myrl Jeffcoat Good luck with that. Although nothing smells better than a good rain, I can sympathize with the interruption of your schedule.

Grant Schneider Now, that's something I don't ever get to but can be so important in curbside appeal.

Will Hamm LOL. Pretty sure we cleared that up. It was certainly not a table.

I will admit that when I clean out my frig or tidy up the garage I do feel a sense of accomplishment. The toughest part for me is getting started. Once I start a task I'm usually pretty good at getting it done in a timely manner.

Debe Maxwell, CRS I understand, believe me. I'm looking at a mess right now and I have no idea when I'm going to get started.
