Happy Labor Day!

While many associate Labor Day with the end of summer and an opportunity for parades, parties, picnics, cookouts and shopping sprees, the day was inaugurated in the late 19th century out of respect for organised labor and the rights of the individual, as explained by authors Joe Sommerlad and Kimberly Richards.

Jill, isn't it funny that the one day we celebrate labor, many people take off? Our family has a tradition that you always work on the first day of the year. The superstition is that you need to be doing what you plan on doing throughout the year. I try to keep it to a few hours or a half day.
