WALK THE ROOSEVELT PRESERVE, ROOSEVELT, LONG ISLAND
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to discover the Meadow Brook and Roosevelt Preserve.
Award winning local educators led around a dozen of us on a hike to explore nature and all she has to offer at this beautiful time of year.
Roosevelt Preserve is about 73 acres. It was acquired by the State in the 1960's. A map has not yet been made of the entire area so it would be best to travel in a group.
It was an outing coordinated by the local chapter of the Sierra Club. As a member, you receive a newsletter indicating all the events held on Long Island. They will often involve seasonal sports like hiking, biking, kayaking and skiing.
