A Question of Legacy

We came to ActiveRain to build relationships, to learn from the very best in real estate and to get referrals.

With each passing year, we accepted the death or departure of one or another of our dear friends.

As we mourn those prolific and much loved Bloggers who have passed on, friends wonder about a legacy. What will happen to the volume of work each one of us so carefully crafted? A couple of decades since the advent of blogging has not left us with protocol.

Regardless of circumstances, those who are no longer a part of this amazing platform are missed and I know, at some point, each one of us will ponder whether to continue here.

AR University fills a real void and should absolutely be a first stop for newly minted real estate agents. And, of course, the trials and tribulations documented by the pros in the business serve to instruct us, entertain and shore us up when the going gets tough.

But is it even possible to go on posting about real estate forever? Time will tell.

This could be a good thing. As you cast aside your ActiveRain blog, might have you finally reached your goals? Maybe, your departure from ActiveRain means SEO so successful, you've taken over your little corner of the world and you're busier than you could have ever hoped to be when you first signed on here as a newbie.

Of course, it could also mean you've become disenchanted or moved on, for one reason or another but, I prefer to remain positive.

Someday, each one of today's members will wonder out loud if his time has come to stop blogging. Each member's unique perspective and experiences here will result in a different decision.

These days, I wonder also, though, I still log on to check in on some of my favorite people. It's a hard habit to break even as you pass through a different phase of life.  I'm still working it out.

No matter how you spend your day, come home to this
